Of the hundreds of junior market animals that compete at the Curry County Fair each year, only 100 of the very best are at the exciting Junior Livestock Sale. The sale will be August 20, 2021 at 5:30 pm starting with a BBQ Dinner.
The sale proceeds from each animal will paid to the junior exhibitor and used for one of the following:
* Rewarding Excellence - these exemplary exhibitors will utilize these funds to continue their agricultural pursuits and education. These young people are the future of Agriculture.
Auction catalogs are handed out at the door with the sale order. The Auctioneer and his ring men will be taking bids scattered around the sale ring. Hold your hand up high when the animal you choose to bid on is on the auction block. If you won the bid, your name will be called by the Auctioneer!
Annually young agriculturalists from across Curry County arrive at the County Fair Grounds with their livestock and high hopes in their trailers. These kids ages 9 to 19 and have spent 100's of hours over the summer or in some cases the past year feeding, grooming and preparing their animals to compete in one of the largest county fairs in NM. These are active young people attending school, participating in 4H and FFA and competing in many other extracurricular activities concurrently.

You can join in the excitement by contributing to one of the many Buying Syndicates. These groups pool their money and purchase an animal or animals through out the sale. The sale committee members can help you join a syndicate group and help you put your money to work.
What is the reward? These junior exhibitors have the opportunity to win premium money and awards. Additionally 100 of the best animals qualify for the Junior Livestock Sale, where a winning animal could sell for thousands of dollars.
